How we handle your data
Last updated: July 2026
This page is maintained by Slingshot, Inc. ("Slingshot") to answer common questions about how Veyo collects, uses, and protects information. It applies to helloveyo.com and the Veyo educator application at app.helloveyo.com.
Who this policy is for
Veyo is a tool for educators. Our primary users are teachers, counselors, and administrators. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from students under 13, and student content shared inside a lesson stays under the educator's account.
What we collect
- Account information you provide when signing up or booking a demo (name, work email, school or district, role, grade level).
- Content you create in Veyo — lessons, decks, worksheets, planner entries, and any notes you save.
- Product usage — pages visited, features used, and diagnostic logs used to keep Veyo reliable.
- Communications — messages you send us, including demo requests and support inquiries.
How we use it
- Deliver the Veyo product and generate the lessons, decks, and documents you build.
- Improve reliability, performance, and the quality of AI-generated content.
- Respond to demo requests, support tickets, and account communication.
- Meet legal, security, and safety obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use educator or student content to train third-party AI models.
Who we share it with
We share information only with service providers that help us run Veyo — for example, cloud hosting, database, authentication, email, analytics, and AI model providers — under contracts that limit their use of the data to providing services to us. A current list of subprocessors is available on request at hello@helloveyo.com.
Retention and deletion
We keep account and content data for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and associated content at any time by emailing us. We may retain limited records where required for legal, tax, or security purposes.
Your choices
- Access, correct, or delete your account information by contacting us.
- Opt out of non-essential product emails from any Veyo email footer.
- Residents of certain regions (including California and the EU) may have additional rights under local law. Contact us to exercise them.
Children's privacy
Veyo is designed for use by educators in classroom settings. When a district or teacher uses Veyo with minors, the educator or institution acts as the party responsible for obtaining any required consents under COPPA, FERPA, and applicable state student-privacy laws. Veyo supports educators by limiting collection to what's needed to run lessons.
Changes
We'll update this page when our practices change and post the new "Last updated" date at the top. Material changes will also be communicated by email to account holders.
